Ministry of Health in collaboration with partners offer free Medical Camp in Nyeri County

Nyeri -23, 2025 The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Kiruga Thuku Foundation, The Chronic Diseases Society Africa, and the Nyeri County Government, has officially launched a free medical camp at Munene Kairu Centre in Othaya, Nyeri County. The medical camp, which runs from 20th to , offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including SHA/TAIFA Care registration, cancer screening, and treatment for conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, orthopedic issues, dental problems, ophthalmology, nutrition, and ENT services.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making healthcare accessible and affordable for all Kenyans.

“This medical camp is a testament to our unwavering dedication to Universal Health Coverage (UHC). By bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people, we are ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing quality healthcare. I commend our partners for their collaboration and commitment to the health and well-being of our citizens,” said Ms. Muthoni.

The camp highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community health and advance UHC by addressing the diverse healthcare needs of Kenyans. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free services available during the four-day event.
