Cabinet Secretary for Health Visits Kakamega to Bolster Healthcare Services

๐Š๐š๐ค๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ ๐š, ๐Š๐ž๐ง๐ฒ๐š - ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘๐ซ๐ ๐‰๐š๐ง๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“ โ€“ The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Deborah Mlongo Barasa, visited Kakamega Countyย todayย to strengthen healthcare systems through stakeholder engagement and facility assessments.ย 

Dr. Barasa held discussions with county health officials and stakeholders, led by CECM Health Mrs. Peninah Mukabane, to review the National Equipment Program. The focus was on mapping out health facilities to enhance their capacity and service delivery in line with the Taifa Care initiative.ย 

She also engaged with the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) team, led by Director of Commercial Services Mr. Eliud Muriithi, to address the provision of health products and technologies (HPTs) for Kakamega and other counties.ย 

As part of the visit, Dr. Barasa toured Kakamega County General and Referral Hospital, where she assessed service delivery and identified interventions to improve healthcare access for the local population.ย 

This initiative reflects the Ministryโ€™s ongoing efforts to ensure quality and affordable healthcare for all Kenyans, aligning with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and Vision 2030.
