Nairobi, Kenya - 4th February 2025 

 At the 2nd Vaccine and Health Products Manufacturing Forum for AU Member States in Cairo, Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Mr. Harry Kimtai, alongside the BioVax Institute delegation led by Chairman Hon. Dr. Swarup Mishra and Acting CEO Dr. Cecilia Wanjala, engaged with representatives from the Egyptian government on potential partnerships. 

Discussions focused on public-private collaborations in vaccine and health products manufacturing, digitization of healthcare, equipment supply under the Social Health Authority, and strengthening emergency services. 

Egypt shared insights from its phased rollout of the UHC Bill 2019, its one-payer system, national ambulance service, and university hospital emergency care. A joint task team will facilitate legislative benchmarking to support Kenya’s UHC goals.
