Ps oluga presents state department for medical services budget estimates to parliament

Nairobi, Kenya - 14th May 2025; Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga on Wednesday May 14,  presented the proposed budget estimates for the State Department for Medical Services for the 2025/2026 financial year before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Health, chaired by Seme MP Dr. James Nyikal.

The PS outlined key priorities, including advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC), health systems integration, digitization of health records, and proposed reforms at KEMSA to enhance the availability and distribution of health commodities.

He urged the Committee to support the proposed allocations to enable the Ministry deliver on its mandate of ensuring quality, affordable, and accessible medical services for all Kenyans.

Dr. Oluga was accompanied by Director General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth, Chief Executive Officers of Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies under the Ministry, and other senior officials.
