PS Muthoni activates Epuka Uchafu Initiative in Migori County
Migori , 2025 The Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. Mary Muthoni, led the activation of the Epuka Uchafu Afya Nyumbani initiative in Apida, Migori County.
The campaign is a national call to action for households and communities to take responsibility for their immediate environments through proper sanitation, waste management, and hygiene practices.
Speaking during the launch, the Principal Secretary emphasized that a clean environment is a foundation for disease prevention and public health resilience.
She called on local leaders, health officers and community members to work together in sustaining clean-up efforts and turning Epuka Uchafu into a long-term culture rather than a one-off activity.
The PS was accompanied by County Commissioner, Mr Kisilu Mutua, CECM for Health Services, Hon. Julias Nyerere, CECM for Agriculture, Hon. Lucas Mosenda and other senior officials from the Ministry and the County Government.
