Health CS Aden Duale Meets Algerian Ambassador to Advance Health Cooperation

Nairobi, Kenya - - Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale  held discussions with H.E. Mr Farid Ouahid Dahmane, the Algerian Ambassador to Kenya, focusing on strengthening health systems and accelerating progress towards Universal Health Coverage.

The meeting reaffirmed commitments made under the 2015 directive to establish a Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) and built on Kenya’s 2022–2023 missions to Algeria, which recognised Algeria’s strong pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity.

Both sides explored a proposed Framework for Cooperation in Health Products and Technologies (HPTs) aimed at boosting local production, enhancing regional resilience, and securing Kenya’s health supply chain.

Hon Duale was accompanied by Principal Secretaries Dr Ouma Oluga and Ms Mary Muthoni, and the Director-General for Health, Dr Patrick Amoth.
