Ministry of Health Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening HRH Through Private Sector Partnerships

Nairobi, , November, 2025 The Ministry of Health has reiterated its commitment to deepening collaboration with the private sector to advance Human Resources for Health (HRH) and build a workforce that is fit for purpose both locally and globally. This message was underscored  by the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, as she presided over the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2025 at The Nairobi Hospital Cicely McDonell College of Health Sciences.

Held under the theme “The Future of Health Care: Embracing Technology, Research and Innovation,” the ceremony underscored the rapid transformation within the health sector and the urgent need for highly skilled, innovative, and adaptable health professionals.

The graduating class included key health cadres such as nurses, midwives, mental health practitioners, and other specialised professionals whose expertise remains central to quality patient care, disease prevention, early detection, and strengthening the resilience of Kenya’s healthcare system.

In her address, PS Muthoni applauded the institution’s dedication to high-quality training and urged the graduates to carry forward the values of compassion, professionalism, and integrity as they transition into service.

She congratulated the Class of 2025, noting that their readiness to leverage technology, research, and innovation equips them to play a pivotal role in advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and shaping the future of healthcare delivery in Kenya.
