Kenya Prepares to Host 2026 World Health Summit Regional Conference Africa

India,  Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale, EGH, held a consultative meeting with the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Europe, Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge, on the sidelines of the ongoing 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in India.

The engagement focused on preparations for the World Health Summit Regional Conference for Africa, which Kenya will host from 27–, underscoring the country’s growing leadership in shaping regional and global health discourse.

Held under the theme “Reimagining Africa’s Health Systems: Innovation, Integration, and Interdependence,” the conference is expected to bring together more than 2,000 health leaders, policymakers, innovators, and researchers. The landmark event will champion Africa’s health and development agenda by spotlighting African-led solutions while contributing to the broader global health conversation.

Dr. Kluge commended the longstanding strategic partnership between the World Health Organization and the Government of Kenya, citing a strong history of collaboration across key health priorities. He reaffirmed WHO’s commitment to sustained engagement and cooperation in advancing shared health goals.

Hon. Duale was accompanied by Ambassador Peter Munyiri, Pharmacy and Poisons Board Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahmed Mohamed, and Dr. Nazila.
