CS Aden Duale Inaugurates 160-Slice CT Scan Centre at Longisa County Referral Hospital

Longisa, Bomet County, January 21, 2026 - Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale today officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art 160-slice CT scan centre at Longisa County Referral Hospital, significantly enhancing diagnostic imaging services for Bomet County and the wider region.

The new facility expands access to advanced imaging for neurology, oncology, trauma care, and comprehensive full-body assessments. It is expected to strengthen emergency response, reduce external referrals, and bring specialised services—including chemotherapy—closer to the community.

During the Ministry of Health visit, the Cabinet Secretary also handed over 831 digital devices, adding to the more than 32,000 devices already deployed nationwide to support efficient, data-driven healthcare delivery.

In his remarks, Hon. Duale urged county leadership to uphold the directive of H.E. the President by ensuring Primary Health Care services remain free and fully funded by the government. He further commended Community Health Promoters for their unwavering commitment to expanding access to care and promoting wellness at the grassroots level.
