PS Muthoni meets Kenya Healthcare Federation to strengthen collaboration in Ebola preparedness
Nairobi , 2026 The Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni has met the Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF) to strengthen collaboration between the Government and the private health sector in enhancing Kenya's preparedness and response to Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
PS Muthoni reaffirmed that while Kenya has not recorded any confirmed Ebola case, the Government has intensified surveillance, strengthened laboratory capacity, trained rapid response teams and enhanced infection prevention and control measures to safeguard the country against potential importation of the disease.
She emphasized that effective preparedness requires a whole-of-society approach, with the private sector playing a critical role in surveillance, emergency response, healthcare worker training and risk communication.
The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Kenya Healthcare Federation led by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ann Musuva, alongside representatives from the private health sector, development partners and senior Ministry of Health officials, who reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening public-private collaboration in safeguarding Kenya's health security.
