Two Level IV Hospitals to Expand Healthcare Access in Migori
MIGORI, – Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, alongside Migori Governor Dr. Ochilo Ayacko, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for Bugumbe and Nyamaraga Level IV Hospitals in Migori County.
Bugumbe Level IV Hospital will be constructed through a partnership between the Ministry of Health and the Migori County Government at an estimated cost of KSh 65 million, while Nyamaraga Level IV Hospital will be developed at a cost of KSh 50 million.
The two facilities will bring quality healthcare services closer to residents, strengthen primary healthcare and advance Universal Health Coverage under President William Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
Addressing residents of Suna West, Dr. Oluga encouraged the public to acquire National Identity Cards and register with the Social Health Authority to access affordable healthcare and reduce out-of-pocket expenses.
He noted that increased revenue through the Facility Improvement Fund would enable health facilities to improve service delivery and maintain a consistent supply of essential medicines and medical commodities.
Dr. Oluga commended Governor Ayacko for partnering with the National Government to expand healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality health services across Migori County.
