Kenya Explores Partnerships to Strengthen Healthcare Training and Ethical Migration
Kenya is exploring partnerships to strengthen healthcare training, professional development and ethical migration pathways for health professionals.
Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga held discussions with Kenyan health institutions and Health Carousel on improving clinical readiness, community-oriented training and continuous professional development.
The engagement also explored co-investment in workforce training and wellbeing, alongside ethical recruitment practices that protect healthcare professionals, advance career growth and support the sustainability of Kenya’s health system.
Dr. Oluga reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to developing a skilled, resilient and future-ready workforce capable of delivering quality healthcare to Kenyans while accessing dignified professional opportunities globally.
Present were Dr. Andrew Toro, Director of Nursing and Curative Services; representatives from the Nursing Council of Kenya and Kenya Medical Training College; and a Health Carousel delegation led by Ambassador Tom McDonald, accompanied by Amber Sprengard and Donita Ross.
