Official Handover: Nakhumincha Wafula Transfers Health CS Duties to Dr. Deborah Barasa

๐๐š๐ข๐ซ๐จ๐›๐ข, ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ—๐ญ๐ก ๐€๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ โ€” At a ceremony held onย ย at Afya House, former Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Health, Nakhumicha S. Wafula, officially handed over her duties to the newly appointed CS, Dr. Deborah M. Barasa.ย 

During the handover, Dr. Barasa commended Nakhumicha for her leadership and the notable achievements accomplished during her tenure at the Ministry of Health.ย 

Dr. Barasa expressed her commitment to building on the solid foundations set by her predecessor in the pursuit of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).ย 

She highlighted the need to strengthen primary healthcare, expand healthcare networks, and enhance the Community Health Programs (CHPs) as vital measures for achieving UHC.ย 

Principal Secretaries Ms Mary Muthoni (Public Health and Professional Standards) and Harry Kimtai (Medical Services) expressed their gratitude to the former CS for her dedication to advancing UHC and pledged their support to the new CS in implementing the UHC agenda.ย 

The handover ceremony was attended by Director General of Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, and other senior ministry officials.
