PS Mary Muthoni Reaffirms Commitment to Quality Health Workforce Training During KMTC Kilifi Visit

Kilifi ,2025 The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Human Resources for Health as a cornerstone of Universal Health Coverage.

This was highlighted  during a visit by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Kilifi Campus. Established in 1987, the campus has a student capacity of 978 and offers programmes in Medical Engineering, Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Community Health Nursing, Orthopaedic and Trauma Medicine, and Critical Care Nursing.

The visit focused on enhancing quality and standards, regulatory compliance, clinical training and partnerships, staff welfare, integrity and accountability, innovation, and community impact as key enablers of effective health workforce training. Engagements with students emphasized excellence, professionalism, ethical conduct, and a strong commitment to service in advancing people-centered healthcare.
